Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering

Engineering excellence meets visual storytelling. How do you communicate groundbreaking innovation to inspire the next generation of engineers?

We partnered with the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering to create compelling content that celebrates engineering's most prestigious international award.

Explainer.

Modern Machine Learning, which enables systems to learn from data, recognise patterns, and make predictions without explicit programming, has revolutionised AI by allowing models to self-improve with new data. This animated explainer outlines the 2025 winning innovation.

Documentary.

In addition to creating animated explainer videos, Dot Crew produced all related live action video content. Shot at various locations across a three-month production, the team documented the awards process start to finish, interviewing judges, winners and filming the live event.

Brand.

In addition to content production, we developed the brand’s visual identity for all assets used in relation to the 2025 prize. This included digital and printed content for the event, social media and marketing. A key part of the this was the development of the 3D animated ident.

About this experience

Our team delivered comprehensive creative services spanning animation, visual identity, live event production, and post-production for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. This internationally recognised award celebrates outstanding advances in engineering that benefit humanity, and our role was to translate complex engineering concepts into engaging visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

We developed explainer animations that brought the prize itself to life, showcasing its significance in recognising global engineering innovation and using AI as part of our production process. Our animation work extended to creating detailed visual explanations of the winning engineering breakthrough, making advanced technical concepts accessible and inspiring to public audiences worldwide.

The visual identity work encompassed 3D logo design and branding that elevated the prize's prestigious presentation. Our design team created all event still and digital imagery, that reinforced the award's status as engineering's premier international accolade, ensuring every touchpoint reflected the gravitas and excellence associated with the Queen Elizabeth Prize.

Our production capabilities extended to complete live event coverage, capturing the full ceremony and associated events. The filming work documented both intimate award moments and grand ceremonial elements, creating a comprehensive visual record of this significant engineering celebration.

Post-production transformed extensive event footage into polished, broadcast-ready content. Our team crafted compelling narratives from the ceremony coverage, delivering final content suitable for international distribution across all platforms, tailored where necessary for social media use.
